Green Thumb Watering Controller

Oct 2017 - Mar 2018

The Green Thumb Watering Control System was my first time experimenting with IOT development and small scale rollout. Built to control a manual hydroponics garden at our school, the green thumb is able to track the health of plants and fill the water beds when needed. A moisture sensor is placed into the water bed once the bed is at the level to be maintained. The green thumb is plugged into a network via an ethernet cable. An arduino takes data from a Adafruit.io page and will open or close the solenoid if needed to maintain the water level. A DHT11 Temperature and humidity sensor sends environmental data back to the Adafruit.io portal for review.
